Framework has announced a delay to the launch of its highly anticipated Laptop 13 Pro, pushing the first customer shipments from June to late July 2026. The company says the decision was made after discovering hardware issues during final preparations for mass production.

According to Framework, two key components are responsible for the setback: the new haptic touchpad and the custom-designed display. Engineers identified an electrical grounding issue within the touchpad’s circuit board that could cause the module to reset after repeated use. To resolve the problem, Framework worked with suppliers Lite-On and Boréas to redesign the board, with the updated hardware currently undergoing validation testing.
The company also uncovered a firmware-related issue affecting the Laptop 13 Pro’s custom display during production testing. Framework and display supplier CSOT are developing a firmware update to address the bug before shipments begin.
As a result, customers in the first shipment batch should now expect deliveries to start in late July, with some orders potentially slipping into August. Customers in later batches may see their laptops arrive in August or even early September. Orders that do not include the affected touchpad or display components, including standalone Intel Core Ultra Series 3 mainboards, are still expected to ship on schedule.
The Framework Laptop 13 Pro was unveiled earlier this year as a major redesign of the company’s modular notebook lineup. The laptop features a CNC-machined aluminum chassis, a 13.5-inch 2880 x 1920 touchscreen with a variable 30Hz–120Hz refresh rate, a larger 74Wh battery, LPCAMM2 memory support, and Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Prices start at $1,199 for the DIY Edition and $1,499 for pre-built configurations.
Framework says customers who no longer wish to wait can cancel their pre-orders and receive a full refund of their deposit. The delay will also push back review coverage of the Laptop 13 Pro, with hands-on reviews now expected to appear closer to the revised July launch window.
