Audeze has officially unveiled the MM-520, a new pair of premium open-back planar magnetic headphones designed specifically for music producers, mixing engineers, and audio professionals. The latest addition to the company’s professional monitoring lineup builds on the success of previous studio-focused models while introducing enhanced low-frequency performance and greater spatial accuracy.

The Audeze MM-520 features the company’s advanced planar magnetic driver technology, utilizing ultra-thin diaphragms to deliver highly accurate sound reproduction with exceptionally low distortion. According to Audeze, the headphones offer a wide frequency response ranging from 5Hz to 50kHz and maintain total harmonic distortion below 0.1%, making them suitable for critical mixing and mastering applications.

One of the standout additions is Audeze’s proprietary Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator (SLAM) technology, which is designed to improve bass accuracy and enhance soundstage performance without compromising midrange clarity. The company says the technology optimizes airflow within the earcups to produce a more natural and detailed listening experience.

Developed as part of the Manny Marroquin Signature Series, the MM-520 has been tuned for professional studio environments, helping engineers create mixes that translate consistently across different playback systems. The headphones utilize 90mm planar magnetic drivers and are engineered to provide accurate monitoring whether connected to studio interfaces, mixing consoles, or laptops.

Comfort has also been a priority, with the MM-520 featuring upgraded memory foam ear pads attached via magnetic mounts for easy replacement. The headphones weigh approximately 555 grams and ship with a 2.5-meter detachable cable, a 3.5mm-to-6.3mm adapter, a carrying pouch, and a protective travel case.
