Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could deliver one of the biggest battery life improvements ever seen on a Wear OS smartwatch, according to new leaks. The next-generation premium wearable is rumored to feature a significantly larger battery alongside Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset.

Reports suggest the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will be equipped with a 784mAh battery, which Samsung could market as an 800mAh cell. If accurate, that would represent roughly a 35% increase over the 590mAh battery found in the original Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The battery upgrade is expected to be paired with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, a new wearable processor announced earlier this year. Qualcomm claims the chip can deliver up to 30% better power efficiency while also offering substantial gains in CPU, GPU, and AI performance.
With a larger battery and a more efficient chipset working together, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could potentially exceed three days of battery life on a single charge, a notable improvement over current Galaxy Watch Ultra models.
The Snapdragon Wear Elite chip is also expected to introduce enhanced on-device AI capabilities, improved health tracking features, and faster overall performance. Qualcomm’s new platform is built on a 3nm process and includes dedicated AI hardware designed for next-generation wearable experiences.
Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 series during its next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to take place in July 2026. The smartwatch could launch alongside the company’s latest foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
While Samsung has yet to officially confirm any specifications, the combination of a substantially larger battery and Qualcomm’s newest wearable chipset could make the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 one of the longest-lasting premium smartwatches on the market.
