Samsung patents a Galaxy Tablet that folds into a passport sized screen

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold. Despite the device not having a steady initial launch, the company has relaunched the device which was one of the first of its kind successfully. Smartphones with folding displays have been a popular trend of 2019 with many companies like Huawei and Motorola also having foldable device offerings. Now, a new report suggests that Samsung is also working on a new Galaxy tab with a foldable display.

The recent Samsung patents reveal a Samsung Galaxy Tab featuring clamshell based folding display. In other words, the device, unlike the Galaxy Fold, will bend from the top to the bottom (vertically) rather than from either side (horizontally) similar to Motorola Razr 2019. Notably, the patents also reveal a full body screen on the front which may suggest that the Korean tech giant might be implementing an in-display front camera…
