First Redmi TV with 70-inch 4K HDR display now official

Amidst all the hype of the world’s first 64MP camera smartphone launch, Redmi also debuted its first-ever smart TV in China today. The , as it is called, is priced super-aggressively with an RMB 3,799 price tag ($531, Rs 38,000) and comes in a single 70-inch model for now. To put that into perspective, Honor’s recent 50-inch model powered by its own HarmonyOS will retail for the same price in the country.

Coming to the technical aspect, the 70-inch model has a 60 percent larger display and of the 4K HDR variety which is a very attractive proposition at that price indeed. That is helped on the software side with a sixth-generation Picture Quality Engine and is powered by Amlogic quad-core 64-bit processor clocked up to 1.5GHz. That CPU is assisted by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. For a good sound experience, there’s Dolby Audio as well as DTS-HD audio.
