Samsung Wave S8500 shipping with Trojan-infected MicroSD card?

Already available in Germany, the UK and France, the Samsung Wave S8500 might bring users an unpleasant surprise in the form of a Trojan which may be found on the 1GB memory card that the smartphone is shipped with.

MobileBurn is reporting that their Wave S8500’s MicroSD card was infected with the slmvsrv.exe Windows application – a virus known as Win32/Heur, which will likely infect any Windows computer that has the autorun feature enabled.

It seems as though the infected MicroSD cards are shipped only with some Wave units launched in Germany – this German forum has a discussion abut the problem.

Samsung has not announced anything regarding the problem yet. However, a sound advice for customers who are buying the Wave S8500 would be to install a good antivirus software on their PCs before connecting them to the world’s first Bada phone.
